SFC Program conference 2015

The 2015 Program Conference for the Swedish Gasification Centre (SFC) was held on 2-4 February at Kulturens Hus in Luleå. The conference offered many interesting presentations and discussions within the area of gasification.

Swedish Gasification Centre’s Director Joakim Lundgren greeted everyone welcome to the annual program conference, which took place at Kulturens Hus in Luleå. The conference began with a keynote presentation by Professor Thomas B. Johansson at the International Environment Institute in Lund and one of Sweden’s foremost energy experts. The presentation was about the investigation that Thomas B. Johansson led under the name Fossil Free Vehicle Fleet (FFF) containing proposals for how Sweden can become independent of fossil fuels by 2030. Gasification of biomass for fuel production is expected to have a significant role in this.

The second keynote presentation was held by Ingemar Gunnarsson and Anton Larsson at Göteborg Energi and Chalmers, who talked about the success of the gasification plant GoBiGas, which is now in operation and deliver biomethane into the natural gas grid.

At the conference, the gasification research that is ongoing within SFC was presented, including presentations from the three node leaders Klas Envall, KTH, Henry Thunman, Chalmers and Kentaro Umeki, Luleå University of Technology.
